The Center for Disease Control (CDC) cites suicide as the 10th leading cause of death in the United States. Furthermore, the suicide rate has been increasing in special populations, and the problem is seen as a national public health epidemic.
Many national organizations such as the CDC, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, the American Association of Suicidology, and other clinical, academic, and research networks are devoting major resources to the study of suicide as a high priority.
The purpose of this scientific symposium is to enhance the knowledge and treatment skills of mental health professionals working with patients at risk for suicide. Click here for schedule.
